Established in the year 1996 by a group of professionals and bankers from leading public sector banks, Corporate Training and Development Institute (CTDI), Chandigarh is an institute providing education and guidance in various disciplines, catering both to the corporate sector and the student segment.
Objectives
The main objective of the institute are:
- to impart basic training in the functional areas of banking, insurance, finance, merchant banking, foreign exchange, HRD and general management,
- to identify potential entrepreneurs, develop their enterprise, build skills and facilitate them to develop the object ideas into bankable projects,
- micro and macro level sector specific research, consultancy and analysis, covering industries, rural development and informal sector including micro enterprise activities.

The institute has acquired core competence in the following areas:
a Training in:
-Banking, insurance and Finance,
-Export Management,
-Information Technology,
-Human Resources Development.
b Entrepreneurship Development Programme
c Career Advancement Programmes for employees and officers of banks and financial institutions.
Resources group
The institute is managed by an enlightened Board of Governors consisting of eminent professionals and bankers. Our resource group consists of core faculty comprising senior bankers and professionals, having very rich experience in banking, insurance, training, consultancy and research activities. This core group is also associated, as visiting faculty, with Punjab University, Technical and Management Institutes and Staff Colleges of Banks.
Accreditation
Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA) has granted accreditation to the institute for conducting training for Insurance Agents. Besides, SIDBI and NABARD have retained the institute as their approved agency for undertaking training programmes on their behalf.

The institute has undertaken programmes sponsored by:
-National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development,
-Small Industries Development Bank of India,
-District Industries Centre,
-Directorate General Re-settlement, Ministry of Defence,
-Bank of Punjab Oriental Bank of Commerce, Union Bank of India and Allahabad Bank,
-Career advancement programme on regular basis for staff members of public sector banks.
Infrastructure
The institute has well-furnished seminar rooms and classrooms equipped with latest audio-visual technology and is located in spacious premises in the hub of the financial and commercial sector, in Chandigarh.
